Nimona 'Green pea Curry'




Its one dish I love in the winters .The Green Pea Curry or Nimona (the name it is famous as) can easily replace pulses in winters . The taste is just heavenly and dish is full of nutritional values and can be eaten without any guilt of weight gain and is very good for Kids due to all the goodness of green peas and great taste.

  • Ingredients: (for 4 people):
  1. Green Peas : 1 kg.
  2. potatoes:2 in no.
  3. cauliflower : in a small quantity.
  4. Green Chili:6-8 .
  5. Garlic : 15-20 buds.
  6. Corriander : 100 grms
  7. One small tomato.
  8. Pinch of Garam Masala.
  9. Vadia  ( optional).
  • Recipe:
First grind garlic corriander and green chilies .This grind-ed paste will act as the masala for nimona.

Now take some refined oil  in a pan and once it heats up add the grinded paste into it and fry on medium flame till the paste leaves the oil.

Now add tomoto and stir for 2 minutes.its time to add main ingredient now,put peas into mixer and grind it , dont grind much as it should not form a smooth mixture so grind it a bit now add this paste into the pan and saute it, keep it mixing from time to time in the pan without adding water after 10 minutes or so add potatoes into it. keep steering  it and once the color changes into dark green add some water and make curry let it boil for 10-15 minutes. Add a pinch of garam masala by end.Now fry vadia into a pan and add into the curry.

To enhance the taste add some Desi ghee on Nimona & serve it with hot rice.
